Importance of setting proper title, meta descriptions and seo urls
For years we've spoken about how important Search Engine Optimisation is for the vast majority of websites. However when looking at a page, what does Google find important?
- Title tag. The title tag is what appears in the "tab" name at the top of the browser.
- The Heading 1 tag (this is a "h1" tag) - usually this is the first "heading" on the page you are looking at.
- The content of your actual page - you should try and include a couple of relevant keywords in the first 100 words of copy.
- The URL of your page e.g http://www.yoursite.com/what-this-page-is-about.html
- The meta description - this is an "invisible" tag, that sits behind the scenes - and should be an an accurate reflection of what your page is about (specifically, it should match up with your title, heading and content).
